Which areas were obtained after the revolutionary war?

Well actually the colonies were not ours at first we were in Great Britain (U.K.) territory and we fought for our Independence because we were being over taxed for a decision we didn't even make and that decision was to have war with France. So when we had the revolutionary war we gained the colonies.
